Different races come together to enliven Raya mood at Felda settlement in Melaka

ALOR GAJAH: Different races gathered at Felda Tun Ghaffar in Hutan Percha here to enliven the Hari Raya mood.

The field of the settlement was lit up with oil lamps and decorative lights to mark the upcoming festive season.

Melaka unity, community relationship, human resource and consumer’s affair committee chairman Ngwe Hee Sem was also present at the event on Thursday (April 28).

In his speech, Ngwe suggested that the event should be held much earlier next year as it is significant with the state government’s vision to promote unity among various races in the state.

“In the month of Ramadan, there are many unique activities that can strengthen the unity.

“Throughout the fasting month, I had the opportunity to visit events organised by various races,” he said.

Ngwe said he will bring it up to the relevant government department to promote the event as an attraction for the state.

“This event can be a crowd puller if it is organised in the early week of Ramadan.

“I am really touched seeing various races coming together to boost the Hari Raya festive mood,” he added.

The event ended with a display of fireworks.
