Smart ring manufacturer Oura has launched a new product in collaboration with renown fashion brand Gucci. Simply known as the Gucci x Oura smart ring, it is equipped with all of the health monitoring features found on the latter’s third generation tracker, but with an exterior that is designed by the former.
Specifically, the collaborative smart accessory is fully decorated with premium materials, including a black synthetic corundum base, surrounding 18-karat gold braids, and a single 18-karat gold Gucci logo. As you can already tell, these are far more elaborate than Oura’s standard finishings which are offered in either silver, gold, glossy black, or matte black.
On the tech side of things, the hardware featured is no different than what is offered on the third generation Oura smart rings. These include health tracking features such as heart rate, Sp02, temperature, sleep and women’s health monitoring, smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, 100m water resistance, and up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. And yes, the Oura x Gucci smart ring also comes with a custom proprietary charger featuring Gucci’s branding.
Of course, the use of premium materials on top of featuring a high-end luxury fashion house’s branding on the Oura smart ring will naturally equate to a very hefty price tag. How much do you ask? Well, get ready to fork out US$ 950 (~RM 4,160) for this collaborative piece, which is available now for certain markets via Oura and Gucci’s respective online stores.
For your reference, Oura’s most expensive smart ring options (stealth black and gold) tops at US$ 399 (~RM 1,754), while the more budget-friendly premium decorated rings from Gucci’s online store starts from US$ 700 (~RM 3,078). But if you must know, the most expensive ring on sale via the designer brand’s website right now is the Gucci Flora 18-karat ring with diamonds, which fetches at an eye-watering price of US$ 5,200 (~RM 22,869).
Seeing that the Oura x Gucci smart ring can do a lot more than just being a status symbol resting on your finger, maybe it’s not a bad investment after all?
