Cops seize almost RM500,000 worth of drugs, arrest five in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: Nearly half a million worth in drugs were seized in a special narcotics operation that saw five arrests.

The operation, dubbed Ops Colin, saw raids on Tuesday (Feb 22), leading to the arrests of suspected drug pushers that dealt in syabu.

City deputy Narcotic Crime Investigation Department chief Supt Mohd Shokri Abdullah, in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 23), said that the raids were conducted at an apartment in Jalan Sultan Ismail.

“The first raid saw the arrest of one woman outside the apartment. She then led the police to a unit inside, where the remaining four suspects, three men and a woman, were arrested.

“Inspections led to the seizure of 11.6kg of syabu and 10 ‘pill kuda’, worth RM418,061. All suspects have been arrested previously for narcotics offences,” he said.

Both female suspects are married with children, he added.

Police believe that the drugs were to be sold within the Klang Valley.

All suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and have been remanded until March 1.
