WhatsApp is working on letting users filter their chats to manage their messages better and unclutter the app. The filtering feature was initially introduced for business beta accounts earlier this year but according to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now developing the feature for regular users.
The advanced search filters will let you sort your messages into unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups. This should make messages much more manageable for those with multiple active groups to sift through.
As spotted by WABetaInfo, the chat filtering feature also has a minor improvement that reduces the number of clicks needed. Previously, the filter button only appeared when the user went into the search bar but now, it appears permanently next to the search bar.
The version sighted was taken on WhatsApp desktop beta, but WABetaInfo claims that it will also be coming to Android and iOS betas in the future. Additionally, the platform is also working on Companion Mode, which will finally let you use a single WhatsApp account on two mobile devices.
