We saw earlier this year reports that claim that the upcoming Motorola Razr of this year will be sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. More recently, a new report claims to provide a first look at what is called Motorola Maven, or as it is also called, the next Razr.
These leaked images come courtesy of Evan Blass via 91mobiles. In the report, Blass states that the device is codenamed Maven, and describes it as “a flagship-class device with top-of-the-line specs”. The bit on specs matches up with the rumoured Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 rumour from before. In addition to the chipset, the report also mentions either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, as well as 256GB or 512GB of storage.
Beyond that, the Maven also has a Full HD+ display on the inside with a 32MP punch hole secondary camera, with a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP f/1.8 main and a 13MP wide angle and macro sensor unit on the outside.
All that being said, this Maven looks quite unlike the usual Motorola Razr design. For one, it looks to be on the blocky side of things, including losing its iconic chin. In fact, the blocky design makes it more reminiscent of a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3.
Blass concludes the report with an estimated launch of the Maven in China of either late July or early August. A global rollout will come later, but no word on when that is.
