Two injured in KK brawl, say cops

KOTA KINABALU: Two men were injured during a brawl that happened outside a factory at the KKIP industrial area near here.

Two suspects were later nabbed while two others remain at large, said Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaidi Abdullah.

He said the incident, footage of which went viral on Sunday (Dec 4), happened just after noon on Dec 1.

“The argument started because the first suspect got upset when he was asked to move his vehicle parked in front of a seafood packaging factory,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

ACP Zaidi said the two victims (a food supplier and a factory operator) had asked the suspect to move his car as they wanted to go out for lunch.

However, he refused and got angry. He threw a fire extinguisher tank onto their car, damaging the windscreen.

Later, another suspect, who was a former worker, and a few others showed up.

The former worker was demanding what he claimed was his outstanding salary of RM10,000 from his ex-boss.

He and his friends started attacking the two victims.

One suspect then used a machete and injured the two victims.

The fight ended when other men intervened.

“Later in the evening, we received a report from the victims about the incident,” ACP Zaidi said.

He said two men were subsequently nabbed while two others are still at large.

“We are still hunting for the other suspects,” he said.
