PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong took the opportunity to meet Barisan candidates contesting in the Johor polls.
The MCA president endorsed another female candidate for Perling, Tan Hiang Kee.
He said the Wanita MCA Pulai division chairman holds a degree in accountancy and is a councillor for the Iskandar Puteri City Council.
“Hiang Kee is up against Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong for the Perling seat. I was able to share with her my experience in beating Chin Tong for the Ayer Hitam seat during the 14th General Election.
“I hope Hiang Kee will be able to take down the giant in the state election,” he said.
Dr Wee was confident that Perling voters are smart, and they will make the best decision by voting for a hardworking representative for the community.
Dr Wee also met Barisan candidate for Pekan Nanas under the Tanjung Piai parliamentary seat, Tan Eng Meng.
He said Tan needed no introduction among the voters in Pekan Nanas.
“Tan is well-known for his services and the help extended to the community as the special officer to Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng (Tanjung Piai MP).
“I am confident that if Tan was given the mandate for Pekan Nanas, it would be a great team for the development of the area.
“So vote smart, vote for someone who can bring a stable future and prosperity to the villages,” he said in his Facebook post Sunday (Feb 27).
Meanwhile, Dr Wee also met up with the Skudai Barisan candidate at the operations room.
Despite Skudai being a tough seat for Barisan, Dr Wee said the party was ready to face it head on for the betterment of the people and future.
“We have nominated Lim Soon Hai, who has a decade of experience in tackling people’s issues as the councillor for Johor Baru Tengah City Council and Iskandar Puteri City Council.
“Lim isn’t a stranger among the community as he is a local Skudai born, who has been helping the community for 20 years,” said Dr Wee.
In his last visit today, Dr Wee visited the Barisan Senai operations room.
He endorsed Shen Poh Kuan, who is also the MCA Kulai division chairman.
He also said that Shen had served as a councillor (four years as WHIP deputy chief) for the Kulai City Council.
“The Senai International Airport is the gateway into Johor. It is important to choose the right political party that can bring continuous economic development for Johor while attracting tourists and investments.
“Barisan has proven its capabilities in the administration and management by attracting huge investors. However, all this went down the drain under Pakatan Harapan,” he said.
As such, Dr Wee urged the people to give the Barisan candidate the mandate for the stability of Johor.
