Just days after iQOO officially unveiled its new Z7 series in China, at least two of the phones could be coming to the Malaysian market after being spotted in the SIRIM database. Of course, this isn’t that much of a surprise since the brand hinted at a local launch of a new phone last week, but it did not give out any details on which models exactly it will be bringing here.

On the MCMC’s CheckYourLabel app, both the iQOO Z7 and the Z7x have received approval from SIRIM just recently, with the model numbers 12213 and 12216 respectively. Both devices, which have not been officially announced in Malaysia yet, are registered under Vtalent Business Sdn Bhd.

The iQOO Z7 is a midrange device that sports a 6.64-inch 1080p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and a maxed-out storage configuration of 256GB with no expansion slot.

The phone runs on a 5,000mAh battery with support for a very fast 120W wired charging speed and is claimed to last 16 and a half hours of streaming. For the camera setup, the Z7 features a single 64MP main lens with OIS and a depth sensor on the back with a 16MP selfie shooter up front.

On the other hand, the iQOO Z7x is a lower-end device with the same display, but it lacks HDR10 support. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset and is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Unlike its higher-end counterpart, the Z7x is equipped with a microSD slot for up to 1TB of storage expansion.

It is also powered by a much larger 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging — iQOO claims that you can watch videos on the phone for 19 hours on a full charge. As for the camera, the rear has a 50MP primary shooter with no OIS and a depth sensor, while the front houses an 8MP selfie camera.

The iQOO Z7 starts at CNY1,600 (~RM1,035) for the model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage while the Z7x has a base price of CNY1,300 (~RM840). The only device in the lineup that still hasn’t made an appearance on the SIRIM database is the entry-level Z7i, so we’ll have to wait for the official announcement to find out more.
