KOTA KINABALU: A Parti Warisan assemblyman has filed a police report against a Sabah online portal, claiming that tjhey have defamed him in article claiming that he and five other Warisan assemblyman are supporting Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Darau assemblyman Azhar Matussin said he and other five deny signing statutory declarations (SD) supporting the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman and had no intention to leave their party.
“I and assemblymen Chong Chen Bin (Tanjung Kapur), Assaffal Alian (Tungku), Norazlinah Arif (Kunak), Dr Daud Yusof (Bongawan) and Mohamad Mohammarin (Banggi) have never signed SDs or are involved in supporting Hajiji as reported by the portal,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 17).
In the article titled “Six Warisan assemblyman sign SDs for Hajiji, to leave party soon? (6 ADUN Warisan tandatangan SD sokong Hajiji bakal keluar parti?)” no names were mentioned but pictures of six Warisan assemblymen were included in the article.
Azhar, who is a Warisan supreme council member, urged the police to work together with the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to look into the matter.
