AMPANG: The body of another victim from the landslide at Taman Bukit Permai here has been recovered.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the body of the third victim was recovered at 10.58pm Thursday (March 10).

“We can confirm that the victim, a male resident, died.

“The victim was discovered at the first house, which was totally destroyed due to the landslide,” he told a press conference.

Rescuers are still searching for two other victims but they are facing a challenge as the location of the houses has moved due to the landslide, he said.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the department is using the K9 unit to detect the remaining victims.

“If we can pinpoint their locations, we will begin efforts to remove soil and vehicles.

“The operation will continue unless a downpour occurs,” he said.
