Seven people hurt in road accident in Batu Pahat

BATU PAHAT: Seven people were injured in an accident involving two cars at Jalan Simpang-Muar, Kampung Simpang 3, Bagan here.

According to Batu Pahat Fire and Rescue Department chief Ayub Majid said the department received an emergency call on Thursday (Feb 3) at 5.26pm.

He said eight firefighters from the Batu Pahat Fire and Rescue Department were deployed to the scene led by the senior officer II, Isaifulazrik Aspar.

“One Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle and an Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) vehicle were used in the operation,’’ Ayub said in a statement.

He said the incident involved a Perodua Viva driven by an adult woman and Perodua Axia driven by an adult male.

“Five passengers in the Perodua Axia also suffered injuries in the accident,” said Ayub.

He said the passengers were two adult females, two girls and a boy.

“All victims were handed over to the paramedic officers from the Health Ministry who were at the scene to assist with the operations,” said

The operations ended at 6.40pm.
