Razer recently announced an updated version of its BlackShark V2 Pro wireless gaming headset. What sets this version apart from its predecessor, you ask? Try finally having a USB-C port to charge the headset, as a start.
Some of you think we may be piling on the drama or exaggerating the existence of this port but believe us when we tell you that when you’ve effectively transitioned every device in your life to ones that are powered or charged by USB-C, Razer’s decision to finally update the BlackShark V2 Pro with support the connectivity medium is an absolute boon. Even if its purpose is singular.
Beyond that, everything else about the refreshed BlackShark V2 Pro is more or less identical. Designed for Esports, the headset still employes a sleek design, complete with a steel-reinforced headband and unique forked slider that also provides greater flexibility and comfort, regardless of how big your head is. For that matter, the earcups are also fitted with Razer’s Ultra-soft Flowknit memory foam cushions that provide breathability and allows your head to stay cool, even on the hottest day.
Internally, the BlackShark V2 Pro is fitted with two 50mm titanium-coated diaphragms, which are also known as TriForce Titanium. Battery life has been improved on the refreshed headset, with the ability to run for 70 hours continuously on a single charge. Oh, because it’s wireless, it also uses Razer’s 2.4GHz Hyperspeed Wireless technology for that ultra-low-latency connection. Oh, and it still retains the same 7.1 THX Spatial Audio surround sound.
Lastly, the refreshed BlackShark V2 Pro employs a new detachable super wideband microphone that Razer says can transmit incredible amount of detail in your voice. Again, it’s designed with Esports in mind, and in this case, for players to project their commands and requests to their teammates without any intermittent cutoffs.
The refreshed Razer BlackShark V2 Pro is already available and retails at an SRP of US$199.99 (~RM892). At the time of writing, we’re still waiting on local pricing.
