A leak of Samsung’s yet-to-be-announced Galaxy Tab S9 flagship tablet series has made its way online, thanks to reliable tech insider Steve Hemmestoffer (@OnLeaks). Revealed is the design of the alleged Plus variant from the series through a series of 3D renders, along with some details of its specifications.
If the images provided are to be believed, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series would sport the same design as its predecessor – save for one some eeny-meeny change. This is referring to the vertical streak on the back of the tablet which, unlike the Tab S8, no longer connects to the dual camera array. What’s more, the two shooters themselves are now arranged individually instead of housed together within a vertical island.

Besides that, everything else is pretty much the same as before, namely the thickness of the bezels, the placement of the front-facing camera, and the flat edges of the tablet’s surrounding frame. While not visually demonstrated in Hemmerstoffer’s images, it’s very likely that an S-Pen accessory can be magnetically attached to the black streak on the back of the device, just like last year’s Galaxy Tab S8 series.
The leakster adds that the Plus variant comes in at 285.4 x 185.4 x 5.64 mm and features a 12.4-inch screen with 2800 x 1752 pixel resolution which, again, matches the measurements of its predecessor. It is also believed that this particular model would also feature an under-display fingerprint scanner, quad speakers, and a USB-C 3.2 port with 45 W fast charging support.
Unfortunately, key details such as the chipset, memory configurations and battery capacity on the Galaxy S9 Plus are still not known for now. That being said, there’s a chance that the upcoming series in general may be equipped with Qualcomm’s current flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, or even the custom-tuned version of it that’s featured on Samsung’s Galaxy S23 smartphones.
Based on this leak, it looks to be that the Galaxy Tab S9 series may just be a slight refresh of last year’s line-up, with the only significant changes being internal hardware. However, we’ll only know for sure if this ends up being the case once the brand itself confirms it. On that note, it’s not known when Samsung will announce its new tablets at this time.
