A new line of code has reportedly unveiled the name of the classical music app that Apple has been working on. Discovered by 9to5Mac, it may be called “Apple Classical” and it could be a sign that the app might be launching soon.
Interesting, it was found in the latest Apple Music beta on Android which also brings together improved widgets for the platform. The string in question shows the ability to open compatible tracks directly in the optimised service.

Apple acquired classical music streaming app Primephonic last year, which is renowned for its highly-specific metadata for the genre that is put together manually by its staff. The tech giant has previously said that some of Primephonic’s features and functionality would be integrated into the Apple Music app.
Despite that, it would still launch a dedicated streaming app for classical music sometime in 2022, which would combine the original app’s user interface with additional features such as Lossless audio. Just recently, MacRumors reported that the Cupertino company was hiring a UX designer for the standalone app.
