Renders of the alleged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Founders Edition (FE) have made their way online. The images were procured by the leakster site Videocardz and they look identical to this generation FE cards.
That there is an FE version of the RTX 4070 is a little bit of a surprise, given that NVIDIA had skipped making one with its RTX 4070 Ti. To reiterate, the cooler shroud looks identical to the ones used on the RTX 4080 and RX 4090. It is also likely to be significantly smaller than its powerhouse siblings and based on earlier rumours, about the same size as the RTX 3070 Ti, side-by-side.

Moving on, the adopting of an RTX 40 Series FE shroud means the return of the Dual Axis Flowthrough cooling technology, with the fans using an inverted design, meaning that one fan is installed in the front, while a second fan is installed at the rear of the card and more specifically, embedded within the tail end of the specially designed heatsinks.
For power, it appears that the RTX 4070 FE will retain the 16-pin 12VHPWR PCIe port, although it does seem a bit overkill, considering that the GPU itself is expected to draw as much as 200W total board power. Circling back to the subject of its size, if the card really is expected to be smaller, this could mean gamers will not have to worry about purchasing oversized GPUs that couldn’t fit inside their current casings, while also offering all of the most up-to-date Lovelace-affiliated features, including DLSS3. In terms of output ports, our best guess is that the card will come with the standard fare of one HDMI 2.1 port, and three DisplayPort 1.4 ports.
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070 FE, along with all third party custom variations of the card, is set to launch this week on 13 April. The card is likely to retail for US$599 (~RM2641).
